Donald Marlin Paul, 92, of Londonderry Village, Palmyra passed away Friday, April 28, 2017.
Born February 24, 1925 in Shamokin, he was a son of the late Charles Calvin and Florence Elizabeth (Nelson) Paul and was preceded in death by siblings Ruth Eleanor, Charles Alfred, Mary Alice, Russell Amon, and Myrtle Naomi.
In 1942 he joined Bethlehem Steel as a clerk in the Philadelphia district sales office. In 1943 he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard as Seaman First Class. After completing 3 years in the Coast Guard he returned to Bethlehem Steel and worked his way up to assist the manager of wire rope sales. He continued there until his retirement in 1982, after 40 years of highly commendable work.
Donald enjoyed gardening and traveling but most of all, he was passionate about his love for his family, serving others and his Lord. He served as deacon, Sunday School Teacher and on various mission boards over the years, both at Bethel Baptist Church in Sellersville and Faith Baptist Church in Lebanon.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 70 years Doris Virginia (Peters) Paul; children Lois “Jessie” Virginia Costanza of Lilburn, GA and David Nelson Paul and his wife Jennifer of Coopersburg; sister Emily Jean of Pleasanton, CA; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, May 6, 2017 in the DiMatteo Worship Center of Londonderry Village, 1200 Grubb Road, Palmyra preceded by a visitation from 9:30 AM.
