Betty J. Hinkle Irvin, 85, of West Hanover Township passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at home.
Born January 26, 1934 in West Hanover Township, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Dorothy E. (Hoyer) Hinkle and widow of Andrew A. Irvin, Jr. since May 2014.
A retired AFIS supervisor from the Pennsylvania State Police, she was a 1950 graduate of Hershey High School and Korean War Navy veteran. She was a member of the Central Penn Chapter of the Retired Pennsylvania State Police Association, Association of Retired State Employees, and Hummelstown Field and Stream Association. A charter of the Women in Military Service for America Memorial in Arlington National Cemetery, Betty was a past member of the Palmyra Order of Eastern Star #402.
Surviving are her son Michael E. Irvin and wife Patricia of Elizabethtown; sister Shirley J. Hinkle of Harrisburg; and granddaughters Michelle Franczak and Jennifer Irvin.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Buse Funeral Home, 2 East Main Street, Hummelstown. Viewings 6:00- 8:00 PM Wednesday and 9:30 – 10:00 AM Thursday both at the funeral home. Interment, with military honors, in Hanoverdale Cemetery, Hummelstown.
