Allen Lee Hoffer

Allen Lee Hoffer, 75, of Hummelstown passed away in his home, Sunday, October 29, 2017 surrounded by his family.

Born July 24, 1942 in Conewago Township, Dauphin County, he was a son of the late Simon and Jennie (Mengel) Hoffer and was also preceded in death by a daughter Ivy K. Corty and siblings Simon Hoffer and wife Georgine and Lois Haldeman and husband Rufus.

Retired as a mechanic from H. B. Reese with 25 years of service, he was a member of Stoverdale United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday School and was a member of Church Council and a trustee.  Allen was a member of Hershey V. F. W. and proudly served in the U. S. Air Force in Vietnam and Japan.  He was a kind and loving man, a “Good Ol’ Country Boy” and will be greatly missed by his family. 

Surviving are his wife of 18 years Victoria K. (Walker) Hoffer; children Katrina E., wife of Robert Augustine of Annville, Allen S., husband of Janell Hoffer of Palmyra, Elizabeth K. McMahon of Palmyra and Travis L., husband of Shari Mongold; siblings Robert, husband of Elenor Hoffer, Marvin, husband of Marie Hoffer, Donald, husband of Darlene Hoffer, Alvin Hoffer, Ruth, widow of Eugene Fisher, MaryAnn, wife of Roger Nye and Linda Turner; grandchildren Austin Corty, Jonathan Augustine, Katelynn Miller, Kyle Miller, McKenna Eberly and Sara Mongold.

A funeral service will be held 9:30 AM Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Stoverdale United Methodist Church, 1760 Wood Road, Hummelstown.  Visitations will be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday and 9:00 – 9:30 AM Thursday both at the church.  Interment, with military honors, will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
