William R. "Bill" Nye

William R. “Bill” Nye, 83, of Benton passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at the home of his daughter in Campbelltown.

Born March 15, 1934 in Derry Township, Dauphin County, he was a son of the late Howard and Mary (Gesford) Nye.  He was the widower of Betty L. (Schreiner) Nye since September 2015 and was also preceded in death by siblings Alice Nauman, Howard Nye, Jr., Mary Jane Shaud, Irene Longenecker, Donald Nye and Charles Nye.

He was a retired self-employed contractor, U. S. Army veteran and lifetime member of the NRA.

He enjoyed hunting and the mountains, and was always working on projects building something, excavating, woodworking, or fixing anything mechanical or electrical.

Surviving are his daughter Kim M., wife of Scott Heisey; siblings Gloria Gingrich, Larry, Sr., husband of Cindy Nye, and James, husband of Dawn Nye; granddaughters Morgan, Samantha and Emma.

A private interment, with military honors, will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
