Welcome to the memorial page for

Susan L. (Antrim) Webb

August 12, 1950 ~ January 5, 2018 (age 67) 67 Years Old

Susan Luree Webb of East Hanover Township, Dauphin County died January 5, 2018.

She was born August 1950 in Montgomery, Alabama to Winifred (nee Haring) and William Antrim.  Sue was born into a military family and lived in Alabama, Panama Canal Zone, Florida, Rhode Island, and Philadelphia, PA. Her family eventually settled in Pottstown, PA where she graduated from high school.  She graduated from Catawba College, majoring in Biology, where she met her husband, Michael, of 45+ years.  She loved to sing and sang in the college concert choir and after graduating sang in the Harrisburg Sweet Adeline's barbershop chorus and her church choir.

Susan spent 14 years working at the Hershey Medical Center as a senior research assistant initially doing research on melanoma and later working on the hospital side researching neonatal nutrition analytical methods and on a high frequency ventilator for premature infants.  After the birth of her son, Christopher, she retired to handle the farming duties of their farm on a semi-full-time basis.  She eventually returned to outside employment with Sam's Club from which she retired several years ago.  During her time at Sam's she helped raise thousands of dollars for the Capital Area Therapeutic Riding Association, Susquehanna Service Dogs, books for two school libraries, and the Children's Miracle Network.

Susan volunteered with the Harrisburg Humane Society putting in 5 to 6+ hours a week.  She also volunteered with the UCC Homes Special Activities Committee, helping to plan and work at the annual Charity Dinner Auction for many years.  She was a knitter/crocheter and spent most Tuesday evenings working on projects with a group of likeminded ladies most of which were given away to her church, donated to the UCC Homes or given to friends and family.  She was a voracious reader with an eclectic range of subject matter, but with a special interest in Science Fiction and Fantasy.  And when not reading you would find her watching a DVD, particularly titles from the BBC.  Susan was a warm and caring individual with a wonderfully positive outlook.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Christopher Webb and brothers William and James Antrim and their wives.

In lieu of flowers donations should be made in her name to the Catawba College Science Department or the UCC Homes Helping Hands Endowment Fund.

A memorial service honoring her life will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Colonial Park United Church of Christ, 5000 Devonshire Road, Harrisburg PA.
