Russell R. Gingrich, 91, of Palmyra passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon.
Born December 27, 1924 in Palmyra, he was a son of the late Russell R., Sr., and Cora C. (Neidig) Gingrich. He was the husband of the late Virginia V. (Johnson) Gingrich and was also preceded in death by grandson Kevin Gingrich, and siblings Robert Gingrich, Carl Gingrich, Arlene Haag, and Evelyn Mariani.
He retired from Hershey Foods Corporation with 45 years of service and was a member of Palm Lutheran Church, Palmyra. A U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a life member of Campbelltown American Legion Post #831 and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware VFW #7447. He loved to fish and boat in Delaware.
Surviving are his son Terry Gingrich and wife Marcia Sue of Palmyra, with whom he resided; grandchildren Brandon Gingrich and wife Becky of Lebanon and Bryan Gingrich and fiancée Kayleigh Young of Palmyra; great grandchildren Conner, Graeme, Kiera, Alaina, and Jordyn; and brother Jack Gingrich of Palmyra.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra preceded by a viewing beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment, with military honors, will be in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors, 1117 Country Club Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
