Robert Franklin Brightbill, 88, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017, at Londonderry Village in Palmyra.
He was born in Palmyra on June 19, 1929, the son of the late Daniel and Blanche (Long) Brightbill. Bob was the widower of Mary Louise (Kline) Brightbill. They shared 60 years of marriage until her death in 2014. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Joyce (Brightbill) Strupp.
Bob was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army. He was employed as a meat cutter at ASK Foods, Palmyra, for 50 years.
During retirement, Bob enjoyed watching NASCAR races and wrestling programs. He was an avid reader of western novels and enjoyed Word Find puzzle books. Bob loved his pet cat Benny and his white rabbit Harvey. He regularly perused a photo album of their pictures. His surviving pet Benny now lives in Downingtown.
Bob is survived by his daughter Mary Elizabeth Brightbill of Downingtown. Other surviving relatives are his brother-in-law Frederick (Fritz) Strupp, his three nieces, Vicki Lingle, Brenda Kolakowski, and Angela Early, nephew Fred Strupp, and their respective families.
A graveside service for Robert and Mary Louise will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Robert’s memory to the BunnyPeople, P.O.
