Richard P. Hardy, 66, of East Hanover Township, Dauphin County passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016 in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center.
Born February 16, 1950 in Pinetown, he was a son of Charlotte (Shaffer) Hardy of Yocumtown and the late Cecil Hardy. He was also preceded in death by sister Carol and her daughter Faith.
A dedicated, hard worker, he graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, New York and served as executive chef at Carlisle Country Club, Colonial Country Club, and Blue Ridge Country Club. He was a member of the Rock Run Hunting Club in Tioga County, loved to hunt and fish, and was an avid golfer.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his companion Donna L. Shutt; children Douglas P. Hardy of Summerdale, Jodi L. Bonham of Enola, and Bradley S., husband of Amy Hardy of Enola; brothers Barry Hardy and Larry Hardy; grandchildren Keira, Hannah, and Grace; and Donna’s 27 grandchildren who he treated as his own and who loved him the same.
A viewing will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Buse Funeral Home, 9066 Jonestown Road, Grantville.
Continuing with his giving spirit, Richard donated his organs to Gift of Life to help others.
