Lucille M. Shroyer, 93, formerly of Palmyra passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 at the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown.
Born July 17, 1924 in Palmyra, she was a daughter of the late Joseph W. and Bertha R. (Umberger) Martin and was also preceded in death by siblings Orpha Meyer, Ethel Wentling, Mayanna Nation and Roy K. Martin. She was the widow of Melvin E. Shroyer since December 25, 1982.
Retired with 24 years of service as secretary to the principal from Palmyra High School, she was a member of First United Methodist Church for over 80 years and was a former Junior Department Sunday School teacher and member of the “Young at Heart Circle.” Lucille was a 1942 graduate of Palmyra High School and formerly volunteered at Hershey Medical Center, Cornwall Manor and her church. A member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Hershey and former member of Palmyra Senior Citizens, she was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Hershey Bears fan.
Surviving are daughter Nancy L., wife of Raymond Baker of Palmyra; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, January 12, 2018 at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra preceded by a visitation beginning at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
