Jeffrey D. Shroyer, 66, of Palmyra went home to heaven Saturday, December 30, 2017. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose infectious smile and conversation have touched the lives of so many.
His wife of 45 years Carol A. (Sims) Shroyer, children Brent J., husband of Elena Shroyer of Lititz, Beth J., wife of Brandon Kane of Palmyra, Brooke D., wife of Tim Turner of North Huntingdon, and Brad J., husband of Kristen Shroyer of Scottsdale, Arizona, and grandchildren Riley, Zoey, Payton, Leigha, Carson, Abrielle, Jessica, and Allison live on to celebrate his life.
Born April 10, 1951 in Lebanon to mother Thelma I. Dice and father Lawrence E. Shroyer (both deceased), Jeff grew up in Palmyra with his surviving sisters Donna Sheetz, Brenda Rosengrant, and Patti Kulp and predeceased brother Larry M. Shroyer.
He is a 1969 graduate of Palmyra High School and 1973 graduate of Millersville University. He retired from ELCO School District after being an Industrial Arts teacher for 30 years. He was inducted into the Lebanon County Educational Honor Society. Jeff loved the Lord and worshipped at Palmyra First United Methodist Church. He thoroughly enjoyed trap shooting at Palmyra Sportsmen’s Association. His selfless volunteering, especially at the Caring Cupboard food bank, demonstrated his passion for serving others.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Palmyra First United Methodist Church, 520 East Birch Street, Palmyra preceded by a visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Private interment in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
