Gary E. Winters, age 75, of Hershey, passed away on May 13, 2016 peacefully in his home. During his brief final illness, he was accompanied in presence and thoughts by his wife, their dog, his children and their families. Words cannot express the great appreciation they have for the family, friends and neighbors that showed their help and support during this time.
He was born June 26, 1940 in Hershey, son of the late Melvin and Kathryn (Dowhower) Winters. He was retired from Murray Steaks as a maintenance mechanic and most recently worked at the Manheim Auto Auction. He enjoyed spending every moment of his day with his wife and their dogs. During retirement they had the enjoyable experience and memory of traveling the United States in their camper. They explored firsthand the beauty of this country visiting state by state and even stopped in Key West to visit a son.
Surviving is his wife Mary Jane (Longenecker) Winters of 38 years, three sons Mark Winters, husband of Cindy, Vince Winters, husband of Maureen, Todd Winters, and one daughter Jill Good wife of Geoff, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his brother Melvin, and survived by his brothers Bruce, Thomas, and several nieces and nephews.
A private family remembrance will be observed.
