Ethel I. (Frye) Fackler

April 13, 1922 ~ December 1, 2017 (age 95) 95 Years Old


"Fat, ragged, and sassy" Ethel I. Fackler went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, December 1, 2017 at Ecumenical Retirement Community, Harrisburg.  95 years of living life, loving her family and friends, digging in the dirt, planting flowers, baking pies, serving her God laughing, and enjoying life is the testament she leaves behind!

 

Born April 13, 1922, in Enola, she was a daughter of the late Filmore and Viola (Reed) Frye.  She was the widow of Raymond M. “Buck” Fackler since 1996 and was also preceded in death by sons Barry L. Fackler and Larry R. Fackler, sisters Kay Francis that died at the age of 2 and Scedella Mader.

 

A longtime associate of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hoernerstown, she and “Buck” enjoyed square dancing where she was known as “Shorty.”

 

Surviving are her children Brenda C. Dove of Palmyra, Vicki M. Dravk of Hummelstown, Lorrie J. Long of Palmyra and Mitzi L. Clark of Bensalem; sister Louise Bretz of Hummelstown; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

 

A memorial service will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Buse Funeral Home, 2 East Main Street, Hummelstown preceded by a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.  Private interment in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg.

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
