Earl R. Gesford

Earl R. Gesford, 85, of East Hanover Township, Dauphin County passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon.

Born November 19, 1932 in Elizabethtown, he was a son of the late Meriet E. and Mary C. (Lingle) Gesford and also preceded in death by siblings Meriet, Charles, Jean, William, and Janet.

A retired shoe manufacturing supervisor, he was a 1968 graduate of Harrisburg School of the Bible and very active lifetime member of the Independent Bible Church of Sandbeach.  He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary for over 40 years and chaplain at the Good Samaritan Hospital with his wife for 15 years.  Earl enjoyed working with his hands, being active in his church, and spending time with his growing family.

Surviving are his wife of almost 64 years Betty L. (Cassel) Gesford; children Jeffrey L. Gesford (Sylvia), Sherri L. Krodel (Dan), and Scott A. Gesford (Vickie); sister JoAnn Gettle (Bruce); nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 27, 2018 at his church, 216 East Canal Street, Hummelstown preceded by a viewing from 9:30 AM.  Interment in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
