Donna L. (Barnhart) Fike

Donna L. Fike, 75, of Londonderry Village, Palmyra passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

 

 Born May 25, 1941 in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Harry L. and Margaret (Novinger) Barnhart.

 

A retired registered nurse, she was a 1962 graduate of Polyclinic School of Nursing.  She was in charge of opening the preemie nursery at the new Holy Spirit Hospital.  She retired from Zlotoff, Gilford and Gold, Camp Hill.  Donna was a representative for the American Legion Auxiliary Girls Nation in Washington, D.C and met with JFK.  In 1959, she traveled through Europe singing with the Washington D.C. All America Chorus.

 

A member of GracePoint Church, Palmyra, she was on the Resident Life and Health Committee at Londonderry Village. She was creative, artistic and enjoyed painting.  Donna had a caring, loving heart and volunteered numerous hours on campus, was loved by everyone she met, and will be missed by all who knew her.

 

Surviving are her husband of 51 years Robert G. Fike; son Todd M. Fike of Tremont; daughter Jodi L. Fike of Harrisburg; and granddaughter Katelyn R. Fike.

 

A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the DiMatteo Worship Center of Londonderry Village preceded by a viewing beginning at 1:30 PM.  Private interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund of Londonderry Village, 1200 Grubb Road, Palmyra, PA 17078.
