Dr. Charles A. Reed, 89, of North Londonderry Township, Lebanon County passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017 at home.
Born February 11, 1928 in Shrewsbury Township, York County, he was the son of the late Allen W. and Sue J. (Hetrick) Reed.
A retired teacher and administrator from the Palmyra Area School District, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He graduated from New Freedom High School and Lebanon Valley College and received his Doctor of Education from the University of Pennsylvania. Charlie authored eleven books about Palmyra and was a member, usher, and Sunday School Teacher of Trinity United Church of Christ, Palmyra.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years Gloria (Yeager) Reed; daughter Cathy, wife of Joseph Cialone of Annville; sister-in-law Joan Roberts of Palmyra; grandchildren Daniel S., husband of Ashley Reed of Florida, Nicole, wife of Jesse Krewson of Palmyra, and Christine, wife of Edward Glant, III of Elizabethtown; and eleven great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 7:00 PM Friday, November 10, 2017 at his church, 40 West Pine Street, Palmyra. Private interment in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
