Betty (Reed) MillerFebruary 16, 1927 ~ November 12, 2017 (age 90)
Betty Reed Miller, 90, formerly of Hummelstown and North Londonderry Township, Lebanon County passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017.
Born February 16, 1927 in Halifax Township, she was a daughter of the late Elmer E. and Ethel (Idell) Reed.
Retired from Harrisburg Hospital, she was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church since 1955 where she was a former Sunday School teacher, youth advisor, Stephen Minister, graduate of Disciple I, II, III and IV, and went on mission trips to New Mexico, Arizona and Kentucky. She was a 1945 graduate of Halifax High School, 1948 graduate of Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia, and 1964 graduate of Millersville College. A life member of Halifax High School Alumni, Methodist Hospital School of Nursing Alumni, Halifax Historical Society, Pinnacle Health Auxiliary and Neighborhood Center Auxiliary, she served in the Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II.
Surviving are her children Cynthia Ann, wife of Russell Walborn and Colleen Dawn, wife of John Keator; and grandson Benjamin Lawrence Keator.
She was preceded on the “Journey of Life” by her husband of 68 years Arthur W. Miller, Jr. on December 28, 2016, infant son Douglas A. Miller, and sister Mildred Reed Hoy.
A celebration of life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 210 West Main Street, Hummelstown preceded by a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Private interment will be in Halifax Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church – Youth Missions, 210 West Main Street, Hummelstown, PA 17036.
