Ben Andrew Cooper, of Hummelstown, passed away on August 8, 2017 far too soon at the age of 60.
Born in Lykens, he had a lifelong passion for his children, education, fishing and hunting, gardening, athletics, and music. For 35 years, he taught science for Lower Dauphin School District, along with coaching football and lacrosse, and was active with Boy Scout Troop 201. In retirement, he remained active in the community teaching CPR classes, substitute teaching, and participating as a member of the Hummelstown Hunters and Anglers, Hummelstown Shade Tree Commission and Manada Conservancy. He will be remembered by friends and family for his vivacious outlook on life, quirky themed ties, and hokey jokes.
He is survived by his children, Clayton, Mary, and Todd Cooper; his ex-wife, Tracy Cooper; his mother, Joyce (Kahler) Cooper; his siblings, Lori Cooper-Ott, Ed Cooper, and Joe Cooper; his dear friend, Rebecca Kline; his six nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his father Jerald Cooper.
