Antoinette Louise Ely, 88, of Palmyra, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017 at home. She resided with her daughter, Amy Louise (Ely) Tyner and son-in-law, James Robert Tyner since 2003.
Born May 18, 1929, in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Mary (Fure) Garisto of Harrisburg. Antoinette was the widow of Richard Lloyd Ely who passed away October 5, 2001 at age 73. On October 18, 2001 they would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary.
Surviving are her daughter, Amy Louise (Ely) Tyner and husband James Robert Tyner, of Palmyra; her son, Richard Jacob "Jake" Ely and partner Jeanne Fisk of Hershey; grandchildren, Alison Ely, Jacob Ely, and Evan Ely.
She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Palmyra and a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School, Harrisburg. She volunteered over 11,000 hours during a period of 15 years for the Good Samaritan Hospital Physical Therapy Clinic in Palmyra. Antoinette was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, aunt and grandmother. She was deeply spiritual, selfless, kind, caring, generous, and was loved by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Buse Funeral Home, 145 North Grant Street, Palmyra, with interment in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. A viewing will be held 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Buse Funeral Home.
